What a trusted local partner actually does
I only work with partners I know personally — surf coaches in Taiwan, overland guides in Kyrgyzstan, whisky people in Scotland. That's not romance; it's risk management with a nicer view.
The invisible work
When a flight cancels, a storm rolls in or a knee gives out on day three, the difference is a local partner who reroutes a vehicle, re-books a lodge and has a doctor who speaks your language on speed dial — before you've finished your coffee.
How to spot a good one
Good partners talk about what can go wrong before talking about what will go right. They know their region's rhythm by season, not by brochure. And they treat your time as the scarcest thing on the trip — because it is.
